Paul Allen (Co-Founder of Microsoft) Is suing Apple, Google, AOL, Facebook, ebay, Netflix, Office Depot, OfficeMax, Staples, Yahoo, and YouTube over 4 separate patents which cover key parts of how these companies do business For example, one patent allows suggestions for people, based on contents of the page they’re currently viewing, while another allows related articles to be suggested while reading the news. Basically, this guy (if these claims are true) owns A LOT of patents.

The lawsuit, (filed today), doesn’t reveal the amount of damages he is wanting. Allen is one of the richest men in the world, being worth an estimated $13 Billion.

UPDATED: Google Search blocked in China. AGAIN!

China are taking action against Google once again! With Google’s Mainland, China avaliability page saying: Google Ads and Search are fully blocked, and News and Images partially blocked. Picasa, Youtube and other services remain blocked as before.

UPDATE: TechCrunch have reported, that after speaking to google, that the whole ordeal was a false alarm and was caused by a “relatively small blockage”. everything is now back to normal again.

HTC EVO 4G Getting Froyo Next Week

Sprint will be rolling out Google’s latest version of Android, Froyo (2.2) to HTC EVO 4G users beginning Tuesday.  Sprint says that the upgrade will be sent out in waves, all users should have the software by the middle of the month.

Owners of the EVO 4G will receive a notification on your phone when the upgrade becomes available.  This upgrade will download and install automatically.  If you wish to install the software manually you can tap on System Updates in the phones settings and select “HTC Software Update”.

Nexus One No Longer available from Google.

Google’s official online store has started showing a message that “the Nexus One is no longer available for purchase directly” from the company, which means you’re going to have to buy it through a phone company or off the internet.

Eric Schmidt said that there would be no Nexus Two because the Nexus One was “So Successful”.

Flash Now on the iPad

Flash Now on the iPad

Yes you read it right, Adobe Flash is coming to your iPad (as long as it’s JailBroken).

There is a plugin out called Frash, at the moment it doesn’t support video playback but you can still play games and watch other animations.

TechBitus accepts no responsibility to damage to your iPad while doing this.

Here are the instructions:

  1. Make sure your iPad is jail broken
  2. Download Frash.deb ( do a google as we are not going to host this our selves for legal reasons)
  3. Decide how you will get the files onto your iPad, Mac users its really simple just download and install NetaTalk which adds you iPad into Finders file sharing list. Windows users are going to have to use OpenSSH (Read this article for help) Be very careful as you can seriously screw thing up
  4. Once your into the iPad’s filesystem, navigate to /var/root/Media
  5. Create a new folder called Cydia
  6. Inside the Cydia folder create another new folder called AutoInstall
  7. Upload Frash into that folder
  8. Restart your iPad a couple of times
  9. You’re set! Now navigate to a page in Safari with Flash content (NOT video) and hit the F logo to play it. There may be a few crashes but things are bound to get better
